GlowNote#2 – 2025 Goals: How I’m Progressing and What I’ve Learned

Hello dear friends and welcome to Glow Note number 2. In today’s Note, I will talk to you about the goals I set for myself in January 2025. Yes, I know, most people take new resolutions every year, and a lot of them end up falling back into old habits just a few weeks later… and that’s okay! I must admit that, I, myself did that a lot in the past, but this year, I tried to do better. So, how am I doing so far? What did I do differently? What did I learn? These are the questions I will try to answer today. So, grab a cup of coffee, make yourself cozy, and let’s get into it. ☕

The (hopefully achievable) goals I set for myself in 2025

First off, let me show you the bingo card I made with all of my goals for 2025:

It was my first time using a bingo card for my yearly goals, and I have to say, I had a lot of fun creating and decorating it. Not only is it beautiful, but it’s also incredibly satisfying to cross out goals as I achieve them. Of course, the main idea is to cross out all the boxes by the end of 2025. But the fun part is that, just like in a real bingo game, I’d already be happy to complete a full line. So far, I’ve crossed out 2 boxes and I’m on my way to a 3rd (the flowers covering some of the boxes are just there to hide a few more personal goals I didn’t feel like sharing publicly). I made my bingo card with the free version of Canva, by the way, in case you want to try making one for yourself!

The 2 goals I’ve achieved so far are “donate once to charity” and “complete TEFL Level 5.” Let me get into those two real quick and tell you what I’ve learned and realized along the way.

Donating to Charity

This one’s pretty straightforward. I consider myself quite lucky with the life I’m living. Of course, there are still areas I want to improve, but overall, I’m grateful for what I have, and I really wanted to start giving back now that I can. So, I decided to donate between €5 and €15 each month to a local animal shelter. It might not seem like much, but it fits my budget, and I know it’s making a difference.

What surprised me, though, is how good it feels to give, even in a small way. It’s like this little spark of joy that hits you when you know you’ve made a small but real impact on someone else’s life – or in this case, a fluffy little creature’s life. It’s a small gesture, but it’s become a meaningful part of my monthly routine. Knowing that I can contribute, even in a small way, to making a difference for these little creatures is a great feeling. Plus, it’s a nice reminder that even if life feels a bit overwhelming sometimes, you still have the power to do something positive. ✨

Completing Level 5 TEFL

Now, onto the second goal, “Complete Level 5 TEFL.” First of all, let me quickly explain what TEFL is: it stands for Teaching English as a Foreign Language. I’ve always wanted to be a teacher, and I fell in love with the English language when I was about 15 years old. I’ve always had a thing for teaching, and I know I’m good at it, so I wanted a certification that would allow me to do it anywhere in the world. And the good news is, I managed! I completed the certification back in April. It took me about 6 months of hard work, but it was all worth it.

Not only did I acquire the certificate, but it also boosted my self-confidence a lot. I proved to myself that I was capable of achieving the goals I set for myself, and I can tell you, this is way more valuable than any degree or certificate in the world. Honestly, pushing myself through those 6 months of study reminded me that I’m capable of much more than I often give myself credit for. I feel like I’ve unlocked a new level of self-trust, and that’s a pretty powerful thing. Maybe I’ll do a full Glow Note or article about my TEFL journey, so let me know if you’d be interested in that.

In Conclusion

As proud as I am to have crossed these two goals off my bingo card, I know there are still 22 other goals I’d like to check off this year. But I’m enjoying the process, and I’m doing my best every day to work towards them. I know how hard it can be to stay consistent and push through those moments when you just want to give up. I guess putting my goals out here for everyone to see is one way for me to stay accountable and keep that fire burning.

And hey, if I can do it, you can too. Just take it one step at a time and remember that every small win counts.

Thank you so much for reading, and I hope to see you soon in the next Glow Note. Take care! 💖

What about you? Are there any goals you’re working on or have already achieved that you’d like to share here? Or maybe some lessons you’ve learned along the way? We’d love to read whatever you have to share with us.
